Worn hinges cause bigger bills
When a hinge wears, the sash or door leaf drops and every other component takes the load. Locks then grind, handles flex and gearboxes eventually snap. Replacing a pair of tired hinges early is one of the cheapest repairs there is, and it prevents the expensive failures that follow.
Locks and security
Insurers increasingly expect door cylinders to resist snapping and picking. We fit cylinders that meet current standards, and can supply keyed alike sets so a single key operates every external door.
If keys have been lost, a set has gone missing with a former tenant, or a lock has been forced, we can change the cylinder while leaving the rest of the door untouched.

My handle has snapped off. Can you match it?
Usually. Handles come in standard spindle and screw centre patterns, and we carry the most common styles and finishes.
Can you fit locks that a tenant cannot copy?
Yes. We can fit restricted or patented key cylinders where key control matters, and we can rekey properties between tenancies.
Do you fit child safety restrictors?
Yes. Restrictors and lockable handles can be fitted to most uPVC windows, which is a common requirement in upstairs rooms and rented properties.
How do I know if a window hinge has failed?
A failed friction stay usually shows as a sash that drops at one corner, catches the frame or feels heavy to push open. Replacing the pair of stays restores the alignment.
Can you fit new locks after keys have been lost?
Yes. Changing the cylinder secures the door again and leaves the rest of the door untouched, and we can supply keyed alike sets so one key opens front and back.
Is it worth upgrading to anti snap cylinders?
It is one of the cheapest security improvements you can make. Anti snap, anti pick and anti drill cylinders resist the methods used to force older euro cylinders.
