Window, Door and Double Glazing Repairs in Newcastle

We repair the parts that have failed wherever practical. That covers glass, locks, hinges, handles, seals, mechanisms and alignment on uPVC, composite, aluminium and timber frames. If repair is genuinely not possible, we can also supply a replacement window without unnecessary upselling.

Start with the symptom or the opening type

The service list separates faults from the windows and doors they affect. If the problem is cloudy glass, choose the failed-unit page. If a pane is cracked or smashed, the glazier page explains replacement glass and making the opening safe. Both can retain a sound surround, but moisture trapped inside a sealed cavity and broken glazing are different repair enquiries. For several symptoms on the same opening, the double glazing page looks at seals, alignment, moving parts and glass together.

For an opening that sticks or refuses to close, the window repair page is the broader starting point. The hinge page focuses on friction stays and sash support, including easy clean and egress versions. Hardware enquiries cover the component itself: handles, cylinders, gearboxes, keeps and hinges. A replacement handle needs to match its spindle and screw centres as well as its finish. The relevant page explains those decisions without assuming the surrounding window has reached the end of its life.

Doors also have different layouts. A sliding patio leaf travels on rollers, a bifold set folds several panels along running gear, and French doors need two leaves to meet correctly. The material matters too. Composite slabs put their own demands on hinges and locking, aluminium entrances can involve closers, and timber openings need consideration of the wood as well as their fittings. Choosing the layout-specific page keeps an enquiry about a dragging slider separate from one about a dropped hinged entrance.

Timber advice is divided between casements that swing and box sashes that slide vertically. Cords, weights and beads belong to the sash assessment; casement hinges and stays belong to the hinged window. Either can also need glazing or local timber work. The material pages explain what can be retained and which part of the opening needs attention. Replacement windows remain an option only where the original cannot reasonably be repaired, not a default response to age or difficult movement.

An insecure building needs the emergency service rather than a routine appointment. Call if broken glass or a door fault leaves the property unable to lock or close. For faults that are not yet urgent, our guides explain what to check when a front door dropped out of line or the key won't turn in the door. We can secure an opening before returning with measured glass or an ordered part when a complete repair cannot be finished immediately. For booked work, photographs may help identify the issue, but the free quotation normally follows a visit to inspect it.
